How is my laundry kept separate from others?

Every drop-off and pickup order receives its own labeled bag and is washed in a dedicated machine load. Your clothes are never mixed with anyone else's.

What detergents do you use?

We use a standard, high-efficiency detergent by default. You can request hypoallergenic, scented, fragrance-free, fabric softener, dryer sheets, or bring your own preferred product.

What if something is damaged or lost?

We handle every item with care. In the rare case of damage or loss, we're fully insured and will work with you to make it right. We recommend not including irreplaceable items.

Can I set up recurring laundry service?

Yes! We offer weekly subscription plans — Starter $31/week (up to 7kg), Family $42/week (up to 10kg) and Family+ $55/week (up to 15kg), all with free pickup & delivery and 24-hour turnaround. You can pause, skip or cancel anytime.

What happens if my laundry weighs more than my plan?

You'll simply be charged at whichever plan tier matches your actual weight for that order — Starter $31/week (up to 7kg), Family $42/week (up to 10kg), Family+ $55/week (up to 15kg). If your order is over 15kg, it's charged pro-rata at the Family+ rate ($3.67/kg), so a 16kg order is $58.72. You're never charged your plan plus another full tier.

Is there a minimum order?

No. There is no minimum weight — the smallest bag tier starts at $22 for anything up to 4kg.

What machines do you have?

Our Fifth Avenue laundromat runs 4 × 10kg washers and 1 × 20kg washer, plus 8 × 14kg dryers and 1 × 30kg dryer — big enough for duvets, sleeping bags and bulk bedding.

How much are duvets and bed linen?

Duvet inners and bed bundles are priced per item and never weighed: Single/Double duvet inner $35, Queen/King duvet inner $40, Single/Double bed bundle $59, Queen/King bed bundle $68.

How do I pay?

No card is taken at booking. After we weigh your laundry we email your invoice with a full breakdown. You can pay by bank transfer with no fee (The Laundry Studio, 12-3454-0225064-00, reference = your invoice number), or by card through our secure Stripe link, which adds a 2.5% processing fee.

How is the price calculated?

Wash & Dry is a flat price by bag size: $22 up to 4kg, $33 for 4kg – 7kg, $44 for 7kg – 10kg and $57 for 10kg – 15kg. Over 15kg it is $57 for the first 15kg plus $3.50 per extra kg. Folding is $0.98/kg and same-day express is a flat $10. Duvet inners and bed bundles are priced per item and are never weighed.

Do you really pick up and deliver for free?

Yes — pickup and delivery is free across Hamilton. Choose a pickup window of 8:00am–10:00am or 4:00pm–6:00pm when you book.

Do you handle delicate items or special fabrics?

For drop-off and pickup orders, please flag any delicate items and we'll handle them with extra care. We do not dry-clean — for dry-clean-only garments, please use a dry cleaner.

What are your hours?

Self-service is available 6 AM–10 PM daily. Drop-off service is available Mon–Fri 8 AM–12 PM. Pickup windows are available morning and evening. Check our location page for holiday hours.
